Grant assistance and roadway design for Lake Shore Drive beside Washington Park, part of Michigan City’s 2023-2 Community Crossings paving program.
The project need
Improve Lake Shore Drive beside Washington Park as part of a broader city street program supported by Indiana’s Community Crossings Matching Grant program.
H&A’s response
H&A helped the City develop the paving program through street selection, cost estimating, grant-application support, and roadway design.
The firm also supported the early construction phase. The City assumed construction administration and inspection in April 2024.
Project context and status
Design and grant assistance took place in 2023, followed by construction in 2024. The work supported investment in a prominent roadway serving Washington Park and the lakefront.
